Our range of patinas from Sculpt Nouveau are reactive solutions that are acid based and will alter the surface of the metal, creating different tones and colours. The majority of the patinas are processed via cold application, but there are a few that must be applied hot. There may also be a recommendation to use full strength or diluted.
Examples of application techniques include spraying, brushing, sponging, layering and dip/immersion. Each technique will provide a different finish, and there may be a preferred method for a particular patina, so please refer to the product for more information. We have included a checklist below of items you may need prior to undertaking a patina project.

Find Your Finish
Explore our range of patinas by selecting the metal you’re working with. Once chosen, browse the available colour options to find the perfect finish. We have only listed the most common metals used with the patinas, so if your metal is not on the list, you may need to conduct your own experiments.
Each patina is labelled with application details to help you achieve the best results: Cold Application (C), Hot Application (H), Diluted (D), and Full Strength (FS). Whether you’re looking for an antique brown finish for brass, or a rich verdigris on copper, this guide makes it easy to find the right product for your project.

| Patina | Colour | Application | Information |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rainbow Patina | Steel & Stainless - Mottled Golden & Grey tones Brass/Bronze/Copper - Mottled with hints of Rainbow | H, FS | This hot only patina will create different colours depending on the metal you apply it to. Use ColorLoc Spray to lock in colours. |
| Sculpt Nouveau White Bismuth Patina | White/Off-white to light brown finish on Bronze, Brass, and Copper. | H, FS, D | Sculpt Nouveau White Bismuth is a traditional hot patina for bronze, brass, and copper, producing a distinctive off-white to light brown finish when applied to heated metal surfaces. When applied correctly, White Bismuth reacts directly with the metal surface, developing a finish that ranges from soft white to pale tan or light brown, depending on metal type, temperature, dilution, and application method. |
| Patina Stain Spray | Currently available in Brown, Black and Yellow | C, FS | This is a tinted form of Clear Guard Spray which is also an acid-free, non reactive spray. They may be used on top of acid based patinas to nudge the finish in a specific direction. |
