This bonding primer and sealer is applied over laminate countertops, solid surface countertops, cultured marble, and other non-porous, smooth hard surfaces to ensure good adhesion with the Stone Coat epoxy system. This primer is White in colour, Low odor/low VOC and performs like an industrial solvent primer. Clean up with soap and water. Cures in low temperatures and high humidity.
The Bonding Primer & Sealer is a high performance water-based Bonder that has both primer and adhesive-like properties. It provides excellent adhesion and wet adhesion to “Hard-to-Paint” surfaces. Sanding may not be necessary for most clean and dull paintable surfaces, but sanding or dulling the surface is required for maximum adhesion, specifically on surfaces such as tile or porcelain.
Follow the instructions carefully for the best result. Clean the surface with a degreaser, then scuff/sand the surface with 60-150 grit sandpaper. Remove all traces of dust with either vacuum and/or clean cloth. Repair any cracks and voids at this stage. Stir thoroughly prior to use. Apply 2 thin coats of Bonding Primer & Sealer using a brush or 1/4″ nap roller. Allow to dry 1 hour and lightly sand before the next coat. Fully cures after 2 hours.
