Ideal for creating art, crafts, jewellery, key chains, and other decorative items, as well as expediting the positioning of electronic components. Exceptional adhesion is exhibited towards ceramics, paper, glass, metal, stone, and certain rigid plastics. Perfect for filling small knots in timber projects. Barnes Black UV Resin is considered a translucent black; however, additional black pigment may be added. The more opaque the pigment is, the longer it may take for the UV resin to cure.
The operational process is straightforward, requiring no special equipment or baking in an oven. The entire curing procedure can be executed within minutes. The resulting product boasts smooth, bubble-free and strong characteristics. Moreover, it offers impressive weather resistance and resists yellowing.
To apply Black UV Resin, simply dispense the product onto the desired area and expose it to a 36-watt UV lamp, positioned 10-25cm away, for 5+ minutes. If expedited curing is necessary, adjust the lamp’s power. In order to avoid warping and distortion, extend the lamp’s distance to mitigate rapid surface layer curing. Keep in mind that faster curing rates may result in increased shrinkage, so avoid excessively thick applications to prevent mid-layer subsidence.
Storage
This product should be stored in an ambient room temperature environment and sealed in the black plastic bottle. The unused material has a shelf life of approx. six months in the sealed state and room temperature environment.
