Jelly Wax (Gel Wax)
Jelly wax, also known as gel wax, is a clear, dimensionally stable, jelly-like material made from specially processed mineral oils. Its clarity makes it a favourite for decorative container candles and special-effects work.
What you can make with it
- Decorative container candles with a clear, gel-like body
- Suspended embeds such as shells, beads and objects held within the clear gel
- Special effects (SPFX) props where a clear, gel appearance is needed
Working with jelly wax
- Dimensionally stable, so it holds its shape and keeps embeds suspended
- Can be dyed to add colour
- Fragrances can be added, though not all oils are compatible, so always test a small amount first
